举了个例子说,比夦家都认为移民的人很可怌,但是实际上移民的人对他们自己和家庭的将来都是有control(有题, 选的就是变了个方式菴这批人自掌握自己命运23  关于妇女的cultural statue的书 本人补充题目:一个题目问,推荐了什么研究素材,选letters.y一个题目问研究者犯什么错误,选没有从移民角度考虑)

    Domesticity limits women status

Questions: The structure of the second paragraph. My answer is a argument is presented, examples follows, and conclusion.

Some species of Arctic birds are threatened by recent sharp increases in the population of snow geese, which breed in the Arctic and are displacing birds of less vigorous species.  Although snow geese are a popular quarry for hunters in the southern regions where they winter, the hunting season ends if and when hunting has reduced the population by five percent, according to official estimates.  Clearly, dropping this restriction would allow the other species to recover.

˙Which of the following, if true, most seriously undermines the argument?

A: Hunting limits for snow geese were imposed many years ago in response to a sharp decline in the population of snow geese.

B: It has been many years since the restriction led to the hunting season for snow geese being closed earlier than the scheduled date.

C: The number of snow geese taken by hunters each year has grown every year for several years.

D: As their population has increased, snow geese have recolonized wintering grounds that they had not used for several seasons.

E: In the snow goose’s winter habitats, the goose faces no significant natural predation.(B)

In countries where automobile insurance includes compensation for whiplash injuries sustained in automobile accidents, reports of having suffered such injuries are twice as frequent as they are in countries where whiplash is not covered.  Some commentators have argued, correctly, that since there is presently no objective test for whiplash, spurious reports of whiplash injuries cannot be readily identified.  These commentators are, however, wrong to draw the further conclusion that in the countries with the higher rates of reported whiplash injuries, half of the reported cases are spurious:  clearly, in countries where automobile insurance does not include compensation for whiplash, people often have little incentive to report whiplash injuries that they actually have suffered.

In the argument given, the two boldfaced portions play which of the following roles?

    A.    The first is a finding whose accuracy is evaluated in the argument; the second is an intermediate conclusion drawn to support the judgment reached by the argument on the accuracy of that finding.

    B.    The first is a finding whose accuracy is evaluated in the argument; the second is evidence that has been used to challenge the accuracy of that finding.

    C.    The first is a finding whose implications are at issue in the argument; the second is an intermediate conclusion that has been used to support a conclusion that the argument criticizes.

    D.    The first is a claim that the argument disputes; the second is a narrower claim that the argument accepts.

    E.    The first is a claim that has been used to support a conclusion that the argument accepts; the second is that conclusion.

Gortland has long been narrowly self-sufficient in both grain and meat. However, as per capita income in Gortland has risen toward the world average, per capita consumption of meat has also risen toward the world average, and it takes several pounds of grain to produce one pound of meat. Therefore, since per capita income continues to rise, whereas domestic grain production will not increase, Gortland will soon have to import either grain or meat or both.

˙Which of the following is an assumption on which the argument depends?

    (A) The total acreage devoted to grain production in Gortland will not decrease substantially.

    (B) The population of Gortland has remained relatively constant during the country’s years of growing prosperity.

    (C) The per capita consumption of meat in Gortland is roughly the same across all income levels.

    (D) In Gortland, neither meat nor grain is subject to government price controls.

    (E) People in Gortland who increase their consumption of meat will not radically decrease their consumption of grain.

    A.(6)(12

    B.(19)(17

    C.(39)?

    Ans: C
